ANGELES CITY—Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has approved the one-peso public utility jeepney (PUJ) fare hike on February 6, Monday.
The fare hike is effective for PUJ’s in Metro Manila, Regions 3 and 4 starting on February 8. Wednesday, making the minimum fare P8 from the current P7 in covered areas.
The fare hike is caused by the petition made by the Alliance of Concerned Transport Organization (ACTO) last year.
According to LTFRB Chairman Martin Delga, the rising prices of diesel and the cost of living of the drivers are the reasons for granting the request.
